This week a verse from 2 Timothy came alive in my life. I know I am not alone when I say that I feel like I fail God countless times each week, if not day. God's grace came even more alive to me though as I read 2 Tim 2:13, which says;
"If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself."
Even though I failed Him repeatedly this week, He couldn't go against Himself and decided to use His Spirit within me regardless. He put three high schoolers and one teacher in my path that needed to hear the Truth of God's Word. He showed me that He is constantly at work around me, even when I decide to do my own thing and follow my own way. If I stop thinking about myself for just a while, and ask God to show me where He is working, He will do so. He desires that all have a relationship with Him and in 2 Corinthians He says that He is "entrusting to us the message of reconciliation", that we all CAN have a relationship with God through His Son Jesus.
Even though we are faithless at times and go our own way, don't forget His faithfulness. He still wants to use us to redeem those who have yet come to a relationship with God through Jesus.
One more God thing. This week God DID show His redemptive power by saving one of my best friends, Justin Wilkerson! Please rejoice with me that Jesus has saved yet another person from earthly and eternal hopelessness and despair. Love you brother, welcome to God's family.

Youth Group
If you would've told me two years ago that I would be a youth pastor for a church plant in the state of Washington today... I probably WOULD HAVE believed you. Why you ask? Because the God of the Bible/the Jesus that I worship/the Holy Spirit that lives within me, is about doing the things that are "exceedingly, abundantly more than I can ask or imagine." (Eph 3:20)
I am in awe at how often He chooses to blow my mind in this way. This is many many God stories lumped into one, but in the year and 8 months that I have lived here, I have seen God take a tiny youth group and change the hearts of the students involved. Yes we have seen numerical growth but it has started with the heart change of the beginning few and the urgency that Jesus has laid on their hearts. We are at the point where not only have we had to split jr high and high schoolers up, but we have had to start a boys and girls small group during the week because of the growth that these students are seeking.
This is not something that anyone but God can do, so I want to thank Him for the students that He has brought in and the students that He will continue to bring in.
My prayer attached to this God Thing is that you don't limit God in what He wants to do in your life. Ask Him to do exceedingly abundantly more than you can ask or imagine and follow when He tells you to go.

Why Not Start Now?
For a long time now my lovely mother has asked me to write down all of the awesome things that Jesus has done in my life. Because of His gracious hand, I feel like I could write a book if I had the time and resources to do so.
Instead, I have decided to make this blog and will be posting the stories that God puts in my path.
Psalm 96:3-4, 8 says this,
"Declare His glory among the nations,
His wonders among all peoples.
For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised;
He is to be feared above all gods...
Give to the LORD the glory due His name..."
The overall goal for this blog is to declare to the nations God's marvelous works and for Jesus to receive the glory that is due His Name!
Please comment on any of the God Things that I post tell me what God is doing in your life as well.
